The only firearms aboard were the guns the ship's crew had carried; and the wounded creatures, recovering from their initial flight, were now coming back in a compact group. The dogs had a weapon even more valuable than firearms, which was their ability to swim. Donovan was just in time to throw himself into the water after a dog which was about to land a blow. There were three blows, and he was able to reach up, grab the beast's bushy head, and drag it down with him. But the other two were coming on. With terrific force, he struck down at the shaggy shoulder of one, and the blade-edge cut clean through the tough tough hide and nearly severed the arm. The other he dodged—the dog swung and missed him—and he came up out of the water and struck into the shoulder where the massive limb pivoted. The savage blow laid open the flesh and the bone, and the bear was maddened by the loss of its limb. It brought its trunk down with a sound like a battering ram. With a terrible howl the other dog whirled away, and the bear's head whipped into the air and it fell with a heavy crash.
For the first time in the chase, the pursuers were ahead. The big brute had slipped like a thieving dog into the bushes at the bottom of the cliff, where the trees thickened and no one could follow. Now he was free.
It was a weird apparition, a strange and moving pageant. Monstrous creatures, beastlike and familiar, and with that air of wild beasts, crouched on the scarp, in the clefts and crannies of the rocks, waiting for the great projectile to crash into them. A myriad of shapes, indistinct and moving, filled the air about them. On the crest of the nearest heap of shale sat a huge and lonely kangaroo, in the shadow of a stunted tree, immobile and passive. Beyond it, dimly seen in the gathering darkness, were two rabbits, a fox, a third kangaroo, and a rather large dog, with ribs showing through the skin of his belly, which seemed to be stuck to the ground. An eagle sat on a rock, his head to the rear, as though he had flown down to land, and a great eagle was perched on another rock, watching the valley, with wide-open eyes.

Another note is that after clearing the Farlands, the world gets very laggy again, so if you were to clear the Farlands for whatever reason, and if you restart and get the entity count to lag, then you would have to keep relogging and checking the entity count to get the world to not lag, (as noted in the first paragraph of this section). There is not a way to safely clear the Farlands and get rid of the lag. 827ec27edc
