I've been using Raize Components since D4 or so. I much prefer them to the regular components. They're rock-solid and exactly what should be provided as the default components, IMHO. I can't build a TON of older projects without it. When Embt bought it from Raize and then priced them at some outrageous amount vs. what we had been paying Raize, I told my account exec, \"Sorry, but I'm not upgrading Delphi because without Raize Components I can't use it for my older projects. And I'm not paying what you guys want just to get the libs updated so they'll recompile with each release.\" One guy wrote back, \"We may be making an announcement shortly that will make you happy.\"
I'd go for the Raize Components if I'd put up with compiling them for each Delphi version upgrade - although that's an option. I also like the fact that they seem to just work, whereas the regular components do have their quirks open and closed source. Embt has the source where and when available.
If you have a Delphi application that you've developed which is based on Raize Components, we may be able to make some changes to it to enable it to work properly with the new VCL, or Delphi 7. Contact me if you're interested.
Hi John. Thanks for the feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I have not known about that module, I will now add reference to that. Microsoft has a great product called Reflection Emit, it does what you are looking for, and works with a Delphi form or component. I do not use it at all, as I rather use the AST form of it, not the oraml source based one. ASP.NET compiles it in to a delivery assembly (VB and C#), and it does generate the constructor lines cleanly. 7211a4ac4a
