For PC you have several options for running Moonlight. Google Chrome has a moonlight-plugin that works in most cases. You can also use any Chrome extension that supports Game Controller/Bluetooth gamepads (e.g. JingJa, MoonPaw, etc). Moonlight for PC works with most Windows, Linux and Mac OSX emulators that have a mouse injected for desktop apps. If you are using Windows, Moonlight for PC works best with BlueStacks.
Moonlight for Rooted devices is currently in beta. Moonlight for Rooted devices on Android 8.0 (Oreo) uses the Oreo APIs for mouse capture. This means that headless Android 8.0 devices, with screen capture disabled, should be able to use Moonlight for Rooted devices as well.
The Input System in Moonlight requires the original XInput drivers to operate, some PC TVs have a native driver or a value set in the TV's System Options that supports gamepad controllers, models like PS3 controllers and gamepads work with standard drivers from Logitech, Adafruit, and others. Windows lacks native support for gamepad controllers leaving users to either resort to solutions like BlueStacks, or rely on XInput drivers which may not be available for racing, flight, action, shooter, or other genre games.
